3-Week Kayaking Expedition through the Balkans and Italy

Over the course of three weeks, we covered more than 5,000 km by car, exploring Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Slovenia. Most nights were spent sleeping in the car, with occasional stays at campsites and hotels. The goal of the journey was not only adventure but also collecting photo and video content for future projects.

🇮🇹 Italy. We took part in the famous Vogalonga event in Venice. What impressed us the most was not the canals themselves, but the Venetian Lagoon with its beautiful Murano and Burano islands – a fantastic place for kayaking. We also visited one of Italy’s most stunning destinations, Lake Garda.

🇭🇷 Croatia. Croatia’s coastline is rightly considered one of the most beautiful in Europe. We visited Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, Trogir, Rovinj, Makarska, and Omiš. Among the islands, Hvar, Brač, and Krk left the strongest impression. We also had the opportunity to visit Krka National Park. The sunsets over the Adriatic Sea were simply unforgettable.

🇲🇪 Montenegro. The highlight of Montenegro was the Bay of Kotor, one of the most breathtaking coastal landscapes in Europe. We paddled to the Blue Cave, Mamula Island, and explored the bay from the water. It is definitely a place I would love to return to in the future.

🇧🇦 Bosnia and Herzegovina. We were amazed by the Neretva Canyon, where we had the chance to kayak and connect with local people. We also visited Mostar with its famous Stari Most bridge and the town of Jajce, home to the impressive Pliva Waterfall.

🇸🇮 Slovenia. The expedition concluded at the fairy-tale-like Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj. Calm waters, mountain scenery, and incredible views made for a perfect start to the journey.

Minija River Endurance Paddle

  • This year, a total of 59 crews and 76 participants took on the challenge, joined by paddlers from Latvia.
  • The river was far from easy this year. Low water levels demanded even greater strength, patience, and determination from every participant. But it is exactly these conditions that create unforgettable endurance stories.
