Cycling Around Iceland

20 days, 1,700 km by bike, 300 km by bus

  • Cycling here is a real challenge: one day the sun shines, the next the wind, rain or snow test your endurance. But every moment was worth it. I camped in a tent.
  • Every part of Iceland has its own charm. Every kilometer I conquered felt like a victory, and the island’s beauty made the journey unforgettable.
  • I even faced a storm and a snowstorm.

The Italy trip

11 days – 750 km

One of the most beautiful and toughest trips I’ve had – through the mountain passes of the Dolomites with a lot of weight and gear.

The Switzerland trip

16 days, 1,555 km

around the whole of Switzerland

Camino de Santiago

  • Camino Frances
  • 10 days – 895 km
  • The results are rewarding, but this trip was exhausting. Constant jostling, sore hands, overall fatigue, rough terrain, grass, branches, gravel, uphill climbs, sun, sweat – so much to experience. Dangerous descents, narrow paths, and obstacles like people and uneven surfaces kept me fully focused.
  • I learned a lot, saw a lot, met some locals, tried Spanish food, and dealt with minor bike issues like a punctured tire and worn handlebars.

Camino de Santiago

  • Camino Paris
  • 5 days, 500 km. The route is varied: asphalt, gravel, and cobblestones, but mostly asphalt. Compared to Lithuania, Camino here is easier, as paths between villages are paved; forest trails appear further from towns. Villages are beautiful, with gardens, decorations, plants, and flower pots – very inspiring.
  • French drivers are reasonable, though cities are chaotic. Farmland dominates, agriculture is common. Weather is hot and dry, hills are present but manageable. The trip is physically demanding, with some fatigue from previous journeys, but my body adapts. Sleeping and eating are adequate; I’m testing local food. Few travelers, mostly locals; campgrounds are mainly French.
  • Most French people don’t speak English, so we communicate with gestures. Food is affordable and interesting.

Camino de Santiago

  • Camino Primitivo
  • Oviedo to Santiago (311 km)
  • I actually cycled it in reverse, heading toward the coast to return. The route is mountainous, challenging, and full of stunning views.

Camino de Santiago

  • Camino del Norte
  • from Oviedo to San Sebastián
  • ≈ 380 km
